About English Wine- What is English Wine ?

English wine (or Welsh wine) is wine made from grapes grown and harvested in England (or Wales). It is different from "British wine" which is made in the UK but using imported grapes and grape juice.

Many English wines also have more specific regional names attached.
(Example: West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, etc.)

Today the mainstream English wine is sparkling wine.

Sparkling wine accounts for nearly 70% of all UK wine production in 2019.
